Manager - Domestic Document Storage facility

Affinity (www.affinitywills.co.uk) is one of the leading firms of independent legal services providers in the U K. As part of the existing service we offer our clients we provide and manage a legal document storage facility. We are currently broadening and extending the range of services we offer to include the provision of a full domestic document management solution, which will greatly enhance the flexibility and value of the service to our clients and substantially increase activity within this area of our business.  

To ensure the success of what we expect to become a growing and critical part of our business model moving forward, we are seeking someone who can take full responsibility for the management and development of all activities associated with document storage and retrieval. 

Role requirements: 

To ensure the storage area and associated facilities are organised and operated in a secure and efficient way.
Delivery of a ‘best in class’ service to clients in respect of storage and retrieval of documents.
To participate in the development and implementation of strategies to continually improve both the storage service offering and associated added value products to clients and introducers.
To build and maintain a sound audit and compliance framework/environment, which safeguards the location and confidentiality of all physical and electronic documentation.
To understand; recommend and leverage the use of technology to facilitate the execution of effective initiatives and operational changes to deliver improvements in productivity; quality and efficiency of the domestic document management solution offering.
Management of the activity of other team members involved in any aspect of the provision of service as it relates to the storage function, acting as a role model and providing support in all aspects of resource planning, organisation and performance management.
To represent the department at meetings providing input and thought leadership on operational and strategic issues as they relate to the storage function.Manage ad-hoc projects within the business 

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have experience working as a manager in a storage; facilities or related environment. The skills and competency set required is likely to include: 

Highly organised and capable of planning effectively
Detail conscious and focused
Comfortable to work both on own as part of a broader team
Both numerate and IT literate
Strong communication skills
Ability to liaise with external and internal clientsService oriented Good interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively and build relationships at all levels both internally and externally.
